Levasil®FO2040
Larger particle size colloidal silica for rigidizing
Levasil® FO2040 is a colloidal silica for rigidizing of refractory fiber shapes and boards. It is used to increase surface hardness and reduce erosion. Levasil® FO2040’s larger particle size and higher solids result in higher packing densities and stronger bonds. Levasil® FO2040 is more concentrated and contains less sodium than standard rigidizers.

Levasil® FO2040 offers these advantages

Temperature Grade
2300°F (1260°C).
Coverage
100 – 200 square feet per gallon
Less shrinkage at high temperatures
Larger particle size and lower sodium content than small particle size silica sols gives lower shrinkage at temperatures up to 2300°F.
Rigidizes Better
Larger particles soak in further and giver stronger, harder rigidized products; lower sodium results in less shrinkage at end-use temperatures.
