Wesolok | |
Colloidal alumina for fiber bonding
Wesolok alumina binder is a high purity boehmite (aluminum oxide hydroxide) powder ready for dispersion in water at 5 to 10% concentration to give stable colloidal alumina sols for bonding refractory fiber shapes. It can be flocced onto fibers, like colloidal silica, with Westar+ flake corn starch.
|
|
Smaller Particle Size Readily Flocs to Fibers - | Wesolok has a moderate cationic charge which flocs well with all starches, and works best with cationic starches like Westar+. |
Withstands Higher Temperatures - | High purity alumina provides for low reactivity and can be used to replace colloidal silica where greater refractoriness at use temperatures is required. |
No Cristobalite - | Completely cristobalite free at use temperature, eliminating a common source of thermal shrinkage and health-related concerns. |
